Features & Benefits
Effective
Phostrol provides effective preventative protection of late blight and pink rot during the season and after harvest. Three distinct phosphites are blended for improved availability to the plant.
Highly systemic - moving throughout both the xylem and phloem, Phostrol protects all parts of the plant, allowing in season foliar applications to protect foliage and tubers in the field and in storage.
Mode of action - Phostrol works directly on the disease by inhibiting the oxidative phosphorylation in the metabolism of oomycetes. In addition, Phostrol stimulates the plant’s natural defense response against pathogen attack, providing two modes of action against these tough diseases.
Globally used, locally proven: Phostrol is registered and has proven itself to be an effective fungicide in several potato growing areas around the world.
Convenient
Lower use rates offer application efficiency. Phostrol’s availability and highly concentrated blend of mono and dibasic sodium, potassium and ammonium phosphites make Phostrol effective at low use rates, which means fewer trips with the sprayer.
Phostrol has a neutral pH of 7 which means it is easy to work with, gentle on equipment, and doesn’t require a buffering agent.
Flexible
Timing – Phostrol can be applied as a foliar, in furrow, or post harvest application, providing disease protection at each stage of growth.
In-furrow – A unique mode of action for suppression of Pink Rot
Foliar – Systemic characteristics provide complete plant protection from tubers to leaf tip, throughout the growing season and into storage.
Post Harvest – Excellent protection against Pink Rot and Late Blight, and suppression of Silver Scurf while in storage.
Application Method – Phostrol offers growers flexibility in their application methods, as it can be applied by ground or aerial spraying
